LASER Safety
The LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) Safety Program oversees the safe use of Class 3B and 4 laser sources in research, teaching and the workplace at UBC.
Our services include:
- Laser Safety Program Training
- Laboratory inspection services
- Review of non-beam hazards associated with laser use
- Review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Consultation and guidance with SOPs
Since Class 3B and 4 lasers present unique hazards, UBC requires that all units in these classes be registered with Risk Management Services. Download the registration form here.
