Infectious Diseases Information and Advisory Committee
The Infectious Diseases Information and Advisory Committee (IDIAC) is an informational and advisory committee created to provide information and guidance to the University on infectious disease events and hazards that may pose a challenge to the university communities of students, staff, faculty, residents and visitors. The IDIAC reports, in an advisory capacity, to the President’s Office through the AVP Human Resources.
The IDIAC is comprised of two units: the core committee and the extended committee. The core committee is comprised of representatives from:
- Risk Management Services
- The Department of Housing, Conferences and Food Operations
- The Department of Building Operations
- UBC Public Affairs
- Student Health Service
- UBC Hospital
- Vancouver General Hospital
The extended committee is open and unrestricted, but includes others (such as AMS Executive and the University Neighbourhoods Association) deemed necessary by the core committee in specific circumstances. The core committee meets as required to address needs of the university community with respect to communication of infectious disease information and to provide advice to the President's Office.
