H1N1 Virus
The H1N1 influenza virus is a respiratory illness with symptoms similar to those of the regular human seasonal flu.
The World Health Organization declared the H1N1 pandemic over on August 10, 2010.
While the pandemic may be over, it is still important to take appropriate precautions during flu season. Protect yourself with an influenza vaccination each year. The University holds influenza vaccination clinics annually in the Fall. If you missed these clinics, visit the Vancouver Coastal Health website for information on where you can obtain a flu shot throughout the year.
For more information on H1N1, please visit the Vancouver Coastal Health website or contact emergency_planning@riskmanagement.ubc.ca with any concerns.
